Company Overview: Join one a growing Unicorn Tech Company, quickly gaining a reputation for their innovative solutions and rapid growth in the tech industry.   They are reshaping the way businesses and consumers interact with technology, and they are looking for an exceptional Direct Tax Manager to join their London team. Position Overview: The role is for a highly skilled and motivated Direct Tax Manager to oversee and lead international and UK tax reporting and compliance processes. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of income tax operations, US GAAP, and SOX compliance. As a key member of the tax team, you will play an integral role in ensuring compliance with global tax requirements, managing potential tax controversies, and providing strategic guidance on tax matters across multiple jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global tax reporting, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations. Specifically ASC 740.

  • Oversee the international tax reporting process, including quarterly and annual tax provisions, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and SOX requirements.

  • Manage and support global income tax compliance and the effective utilisation of tax technology and ERP systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the tax implications of business decisions and new initiatives. Including US

  • Monitor and analyse changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s tax position.

  • Develop and implement best practices for tax processes and reporting, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in direct tax compliance and reporting in an international business environment – experience with US publicly traded companies a bonus.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements as they relate to tax. Ideally gained from working in a SOX controlled company.

  • Proven experience in managing income tax operations and navigating tax controversies.

  • Understanding of US international tax, Spanish, UK & German

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Proficiency in tax technology solutions and experience with ERP systems is a plus.

  • ACA/ CTA qualifications preferred.
