The Consultancy Group are partnered with a leading insurance firm in London are recruiting a first time tax hire into the finance function:
Ensure timely management of tax accounting and compliance activities by providing guidance on best practice policies and procedures for the group. Remain compliant with regulations such as HMRC and Lloyd’s by preparing and submitting relevant tax returns and liaising with external tax advisors as needed. Additionally, assist with the preparation and review of various tax returns, including VAT and tax computations.
Collaborate with the Group Tax Team for US tax provisioning process, and handle ad hoc projects as required. Liaise with external tax advisors as needed, providing necessary supporting documentation in a timely manner. Support the transformation of the Tax function and the migration to new General Ledger. Manage the tax compliance and controls framework, ensuring finance risks are identified and regularly monitored. Provide necessary evidence to auditors in a timely manner and manage various tax health checks and projects on an ad-hoc basis.
The ideal candidate for this role should be qualified with a recognized professional body (such as CTA) and have relevant work experience gained in tax accounting and compliance, preferably in the London Insurance Market. They should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel, and strong, clear, and well-structured written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, they should build and maintain good internal and external relationships, including with the Group Tax Team and external tax advisors.
